Dr. Muhammed Sharoz Shamim grew up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at University of Alabama at Birmingham before obtaining a certificate in Biomedical sciences at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Shamim received his doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University, College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM) In Cleveland, OH. During his medical education, Dr. Shamim was consistently on the dean's list, received multiple awards and helped co-find the International Podiatric Medical Students Association.
After matching with his top choice for residency training, Dr. Shamim completed three years of surgical training in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University, a level I Trauma center. Dr Shamim completed an extensive orthopedic traumatology rotation at Detroit Receiving Hospital (Level one trauma center) which included inpatient care, ED trauma call, and complex musculoskeletal trauma surgery. He also completed training at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, including management and treatment of clubfoot deformity. During his final two years of training, Dr Shamim was selected to serve in the role of Academic Chief Resident.
Dr. Shamim is currently completing a one year advanced fellowship with the Northwest Illinois Foot & Ankle Foundation Fellowship with a focus on Peripheral Nerve Surgery, External Fixation, Total Ankle replacements and complex reconstructive surgery
