Dr. Douglas Pacaccio is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then completed 3 years of Surgical Residency training at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, a level 1 trauma center in Falls Church, Virginia. During this time, he served as the Chief Resident of the Plastic Surgery Limb Salvage Team at the prestigious Georgetown University Hospital. He specializes in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, surgical repair of peripheral nerve disorders, diabetic Charcot reconstruction, external fixation, arthroscopy, orthopedic traumatology, and limb salvage.
Dr. Pacaccio served on the Board of Directors and was a founding member of MedShape Solutions, Inc., an Atlanta-based medical device company. He is named on several orthopedic device patents. He is the past president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association and serves on committees there and several hospital committees.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and family. He is an avid hunter and fisherman, and he also enjoys cooking and making wine.
