Dr. Vekkos is originally from the Philadelphia area and completed his undergraduate education at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the Temple University Podiatric Medical School in 1982.
Dr. Vekkos came to the Midwest by participating in a two-year Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Northlake Hospital completing his postgraduate education in 1984. Over the next 38 years, Dr. Vekkos developed a general podiatric practice with special interests in pediatric flatfoot deformities and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in adults.
Additionally, Dr. Vekkos is passionate about being involved in the education and training of podiatric students and residents. In fact, Dr. Patrick McEneaney was one of his residents several years ago!
He enjoys fishing, biking, and spending time with his family.
