Dr. Michael G. Lacey is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and then graduated from Fairfield University in Connecticut as an undergraduate and then continued on to medical school at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2001. He then did a three-year advanced surgical training residency in New York City, thus gaining extensive surgical training, and now has more than 20 years of experience. He’s worked across the Chicagoland area and will be based in our Hoffman Estates location. Dr. Lacey is also board certified by the American Board of Foot Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Lacey said that he wanted to be a doctor because his father almost lost his leg, but a podiatrist was able to save his limb, and that piqued his interest in podiatry.
He cares for all foot and ankle problems and his approach to patient care is to teach each patient like they’re a family member. “I like to spend time with them and not rush through an appointment. I like to visit and spend time talking to them like they're the only person that is in the office.”
In his spare time, he is an avid golfer and sports fan, although still loyal to his Boston roots so he is a diehard Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, and Celtics fan.
